A regional pilot's Christmas

Master Blaster
Sitting in my hotel room chugging apple cider vinegar mixed with emergen-c and eating cold pizza. Someone down the hall is partying pretty loud and hotel staff could honestly care less. I think at this point I don't care anymore either. I'm watching ww2 in color on Netflix and taking turns staring into my flashlight with one eye closed at a time. I hope that the flight attendant I have tomorrow isn't fresh off of IOE and that someone getting up to use the bathroom while we are taxiing does not constitute a pushing of the call button in a manner that would indicate a real emergency. Off to bed, I have to be up stupid early. Goodnight JC, may sugarplums and gingerbread cookies go jumping through your dreams. Merry Christmas.

Flashlight or fleshlight?

I was deployed to the middle east last Christmas Eve. Thus year, being in a hotel on an airline layover, but scheduled to be home in the next couple days, is pretty tame in comparison.

Seems like a good trade for me.

Even at regional FO wages.

@chrisreedrules my first Christmas at PSA was in Akron. The FA lived there so she went home as soon as we blocked in and the captain and his girlfriend (another FA) went to her parent's house right after that. It was a rather lonely van ride to the hotel.

well, that sounds sucky.....but you could be in Baghdad ;)

My first Christmas in the Air Force was in boot camp. The second at home. The third in Kuwait and the last in Korea. So even after being home the last 15'ish years from Korea. I still appreciate being home for Christmas. @A80TRACON you volunteered for the big bucks. Suck it up, buttercup. :)

To be fair, I've had the past several thanksgivings and Christmases off as a professional pilot, so I can't complain too loudly.

Things could always be worse

Fortunatley I'm off for the holiday, I have been pretty lucky this year. We leave on a trip on Sunday. I am overall enjoying my choice to go to the FRED community. It surely is a challenge but it will pay dividends later.
