Jumpseat listing on AA from an international station

Never jumpseated on American before, let's say I wanted to Jumpseat from LHR to JFK, and I make the listing ahead of time on MYIDTRAVEL. Can I use the confirmation number at the kiosk to get boarding passes to go through security? Would the gate agent still need to talk to me to verify I'm in CASS even though I can't occupy the Jumpseat internationally? Do I still need to check in with the crew when boarding?

Not sure who you work for but AA only has a limited number of airlines that let you jumpseat on them internationally.

I work for a regional carrier that flies for AA. I just don't want to pay for their flight benefits since I've never needed them, I always use DL or UA. And i would assume my carrier is on their international Jumpseat agreement since we definitely allow their pilots and dispatchers to Jumpseat with us internationally.

For American, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean aren't considered international. I would guess you aren't actually on their international jumpseat list.

Well that seems the opposite of fair (unfair?)

It's pretty normAAl for them.

We've been flying to Japan, Korea, Australia, NZ, China and a few random small Pacific Island Nations for years and JUST got on their international jumpseat list a few months ago.

Not that I agree with the rationale, but I believe their thought pattern is that since regional airlines do not fly internationally (Canada and Mexico notwithstanding), the jumpseat agreement isn't truly reciprocal since we cannot offer their pilots any international jumpseating.

Skywest flies for American. We have domestic jumpseat privileges but we don't have international jumpseat privileges.

Just buy a zed fare

I tried to Jumpseat in June from DFW to Cancun and they would not let me ride up front. Said that non-AA employees could not jump international and that I had to buy a regular Zed fare.

That's different. You can't ride the actual jumpseat on any airline except your own (and a few wholly owned situation exceptions) internationally on any airline. It was a DHS thing. They've changed the rule, but no airline has implemented a procedure for it yet. And, I'm sure, based on past history, American will be the last to do so.

If your airline was on their international jumpseat list you could have jumpseated, utilizing a cabin seat.

I was really hopping this no international jumpseating rule on AA would have gone away with the merger. But looks like it's spread to all the former US flights as well. What a shame.
