"Decals," defined by ASIG like the NFL defines a catch...
It sucks that these retrojets are grey(seriously, what other airline has done a retrojet but decided to paint the plane the wrong color?), but that being said, I love this one. The RenoAir retro is crap, but this is great.
Saw the TWA one in Philly today next to a new livery Airbus. It seems the grey is the same grey as the normal livery.
Also, is it just me, or has anyone else noticed we have TWO America West retro schemes and only one of the rest (and no USAir)?
Actually...at least the 80s America West retro has been painted into another anonymous American plane. Sad, as it was one of my favorites. I hope the other Airbus liveries don't follow.Saw the TWA one in Philly today next to a new livery Airbus. It seems the grey is the same grey as the normal livery.

If you lose an engine just swim faster than everybody else.

But I agree it's the same grey AA is using. Decals need to come off, ok, slap on the AA ones, put the plane back in service. Who cares what it looks like, right? A half-assed effort is still effort.
You may have seen that happen for the last time. I spotted 828 in AA colors on the 25th.Must have happened in the last 10 days because our fleet list is still showing ships 828 (old AWA) and 838 (new AWA) as Heritage Aircraft as of 20 November. Not to mention they were parked side-by-side in Philly about two weeks back.
The only Airbus liveries that seem to be going away are the Theme aircraft. The only one left is the Carolina Panthers A319. The Arizona and Nevada liveries are still listed as well.
