Hawaiian hiring

I just got back from HNL. Not going back for a vacation. Incredibly humid with heat, traffic was bad, and food was ok but not great. I really don't feel like you get your moneys worth. The people who own homes there say that power is going for 38 cpkWh. That's a lot of money, and hence why almost no one has AC. Just a weird place. Beautiful, but weird.

Agree, except for the food. Last time I was out there I dined on excellent steak and garlic mashed potatoes. Yummy.

So it's a great company with great experience in [big] jets....and crap QOL?

Didn't this song just play on the radio?

HA has posted twice, one for Dxer and one for Asst. Dxer. God speed and good luck. One posting has the same req number as the Nov.15 listing. But it does read 1/20/16 on the company website. so im guessing its for realz. https://rn11.ultipro.com/HAW1000/JobBoard/JobDetails.aspx?__ID=*C66754F5DA5AE160 https://rn11.ultipro.com/HAW1000/JobBoard/JobDetails.aspx?__ID=*2B422623672DB403

God knows they are desperate. A friend just finished up a 23 day stretch with only 24 hours off in there somewhere. And on his first day off after the 23 they called him for OT. No thank you. And that's precisely what he said! Lol

Bums me out, the workaholic that I am, since it's stories like this (which are usually true on this forum) that make me question where I want to work in the long-term. The first thread on Hawaiian alone was enough to make me take a real long look, and go "Hmm..."

UA is cleaning them out... Heard from a former employee there who must still have connections still at HA that the company is so desperate they are hiring people already in Hawaii that just got licensed. Guess they finally realized that they don't pay enough to keep mainlanders happy to stay with them.

Noticed on the dispatch assistant job posting that it says "related experience preferred". So would a pilot with an interest in possibly becoming a dispatcher have a descent shot at even getting an interview?
