Spirit's Manager of OCC is leaving to become the OCC Manager at SkyWest.....where he worked previously. Anyone at Spirit have thoughts on his exit?

This about sums up the hire and SkyWest as a whole...

nep·o·tism
ˈnepəˌtizəm/
noun
  1. the practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives or friends, especially by giving them jobs.
synonyms: favoritism, preferential treatment, the old boy network, looking after one's own, bias, partiality, partisanship
"hiring my daughter was not nepotism—it was just good business"

Spirit employee here.

It's actually the Director of OCC who is leaving. I don't know all the details on why he's going back to SkyWest, and there is a lot of ambiguity on what will happen next. Will we get a new director externally or promote from within? Of course there are all sorts of rumors going around but at this point we don't know much.

What I do know is that while he was here, we saw some positive changes and I hope that trend continues. Our staffing improved and the dispatchers now have a manageable workload, our computer systems improved in terms of speed and stability, and we're improving our automation. We will definitely be hiring more DX over the next year and there are even rumors of some kind of duty manager position.

Feel free to recruit the psa occ director. He is solid.

What do you consider a manageable workload there?

Do you mean the outgoing Director of OCC for Spirit or the former PSA Manager?
Both! lol... let's just say nobody at SkyWest is thrilled about his return. He may have actually done work at Spirit seeing as he didn't have the nepotism to rely on as he does in SGU. I assume he will return to his old form of rarely even showing up to work.
