... not much of a milestone, exactly, especially compared to some of you gazillion-hour industry vets. But it's a start. The start, in fact :)

And yes, I've noticed that this isn't really a GA site catering primarily to brand-new students! But I've been lurking JC for a few years now and it's been a very useful resource so far. And I'm trying to keep my options open in terms of future choices, especially considering that I have so very much to learn. So, one of the reasons to join is simply to say... thanks to all who've posted great info on here that's led to me pulling this initial, very modest, trigger.

Welcome. Just because you don't see a lot of GA stuff posted doesn't mean resources aren't available for it. A good chunk of the folks here started in GA, and there are some awesome CFI's running around as well. Go forth, have experiences, ask questions, spend money (you know about money right?).

Welcome! Each and every one of us were once in the same place you are now. One of my favorite parts of this community is watching people that I've known for years achieve their goals. Whenever you want to end up, you'll be there sooner than you think. Enjoy the ride!

Welcome! And as previously stated there are a bunch of folks here who started out in GA just like you are. I'm still involved in it as a CFI still trying to build time (and I'm having a fun time doing it, who'd of thunk I'd like instructing). Lots of career types around here and even one or two who have come full circle and are back in the GA world.

There's quite a few of us that are involved in general aviation outside of our daily jet routine.

Welcome to Jet Careers!

Thank you, all. It's much appreciated.

You know, a few recent job moves, yours included, acted as motivators to sign up. Not really for directly inspirational reasons; more that I kinda thought "Oh, good for Screaming_Emu, flying that 747 in that new job, now!" ... and then realized that if I knew enough about the forum to be pleased when regular posters made positive career moves, I should probably hurry up and join, already :D

Welcome to JC. We have a yearly get together in Vegas. It's coming up in a few weeks. Come on out!

You think I'd just fly out to Vegas and do silly things with a bunch of people I don't even really know online, let alone in person?! You think right. Except I probably can't get off work at this short notice (to say nothing of transport - I'm multiple states away), so I'm afraid I'll probably have to miss it.
