1600TT 300Turbine 25 Multi

pilotdude1987

Soy Piloto!
I've got 1600 Total time, over 1000 xc, over 100 night, 130 Instrument, 1200PIC, 300 Turbine(and building, currently flying PC-12's (part 135)) but only 25 multi.
Looking for a way to build multi time and get that ATP before my written expires next august. Would really love a texas job, however not opposed to relocating anywhere for the right position.

There's a Twin Otter doing skydiving in San Marcos and they might still be hiring. http://www.skydivesanmarcos.com/ you can also check dropzone.com as it's a massive state with more than a few dropzones.

I had heard Berry pays pretty well with mileage and everything, but I never could verify that.

Looked at skydive San Marcos a while back, about a year / year and halfish ago. Back when I was an Internet technician and part time pilot. The company I worked for was their and prolly still is their Internet provider. I thought well I already have an "in". So I went and talked to the guy there in charge of hiring. Biggest piece of work I've ever meet. Wouldn't even give me the time of day. Thought briefly about messing up his Internet than charging him out the ass to fix it but I didnt. Anyway they only have like 3 full time pilots and their minimums are outrageous. Something like 1000 Multi PIC. If I had 1000mpic I wouldn't be looking at you anyway.

Berry is a good thought though. They fly caravans and merlins don't they?

From the link posted above by srn121:

BAI currently operates Bombardier DHC-8-200 “Dash 8” series, EMB-120 Brasilias, Do328-100 series turboprops, SA-227 “Metroliners”, and DHC-6-300 “Twin Otters” in domestic (CONUS) and international (OCONUS) locations.

Good to know. Life's too short to work for •, but San Marcos seemed like a really fun city when you're so close to Austin and San Antonio so it seemed tempting at times. Baron Aviation flies some Fedex Feeder Caravans intor or out of Austin and some other cities in Texas and they've been upping their pay at all the Fedex Feeders and I don't think anyone makes less than 40k first year these days. Only catch is I think their mins are currently the highest at 1800TT if I remember right.

Problem with BaronAV is they only fly caravans, which does nothing to help me in my pursuit for my multi-ATP and also would be a step down from the pc12's I'm currently flying :/ Berry is a good option for sure gets me back to my hometown(or close enough) and gets me solid multi turbine time. Just not too sure whether I'm keen on flying around boxes all night. Have you ever tired carrying on a conversation with a box?.. it doesn't talk back. and I've never had a package tip before either... not a perfect solution but not one to turn down either...

You're the SIC so you've got the Captain to talk to and I'd prefer boxes as boxes don't bitch. You might want to find someone who worked with Berry on this forum and get their thoughts on the company and the flying. I'm not too familiar with who the other big operations in Texas are, but if you're bored and looking for a better gig you might want to check on some companies headquartered in the cities you would like to work and see if they're hiring first officers. Some of the FBOs in the area might also have charter operations and it might be worth giving their CP a call. You can learn a lot about jobs online, but honestly so many jobs never get posted.

Ive got a couple interviews lined up. (KA200 P.180 and Lear35) Im gonna see how those pan out before i make any other commitments to interviews. Thank You though.
