Good luck Republic dudes and dudettes

As in IBT will reject the agreement without membership ratification, or IBT will accept the agreement without membership ratification?

After reviewing the proposal the Executive Board of Local 357 does not believe that this meets the determination of a “final offer of settlement” referenced in the IBT Constitution. There are many reasons in support of our decision including the following:

- The proposal by the Company is the fourth in a series of LBFO’s that do not meet the requirements of the Pilots

- The Company refused to move off of their economic position until the purported “final offer of settlement” and the Company has not provided substantive data in support of their new economic proposal

- The Company modified language in the group of 19 Articles that was previously agreed to with the Local Negotiations Committee including non-monetary items

- The Company added language that prevents constitutionally protected communications between the Local, the International, its Pilots, and the community at large in Article 30.J and Article 30.M

- The proposal by the Company contained language that would require material changes to match the purported intent by the Company

Therefore, the Local Executive Board has determined that this proposal by the Company should not be sent to the Pilots for a vote. Attached is our notification of said determination to the Airline Division Director, Captain David Bourne. With this in mind, the only way in which this offer can be presented to the pilot group for a vote is if the IBT General President overrides the decision of the local.

The amount of posts I see from people wanting to see Republic burn, even at their own expense, is surprising

It's not surprising. I'm sure many of them were yes voters on their own concessionary contracts, but they got their shiny jets. People don't know how to react when they see a pilot group stand up and fight back. Easier to scream BURN...BURN... and run back to their jet than to support.

They leave holes to save themselves money. If you got the work rules you wanted, it would cost them a hell of a lot more money. The pay rates are designed to end the staffing problem. Work rules don't get people to show up on property at regional airlines. First year pay rates do.

19. NINETEEN. 19 AGREED UPON articles had the language changed in the LBFO presented by the company. This is precisely why RAH mgmt cannot be trusted and BB should be sent to the street.

You don't have the power to send BB to the street, so drop that idea and join reality.

The Board isn't going to remove Bedford, because he isn't responsible for the problems. Unreasonable mainline partner expectations are the cause of the problems. The Board can see this. And Bedford is just trying to hold it together in any way he can.

Disclaimer: I despise Bedford for many reasons, so my defense of him above is only related to his performance in managing the company's finances, not in any other areas.

Yup. XJT had the same problem. $0 cancellation pay for United was very interesting. Amazing how renegotiated rates all of a sudden set XJT on a path out of the red and into the black.

I assume this is why the Mesa TA sucks compared to other recent TAs. The new United flying likely has minimal headroom for a profit as it was based on bankruptcy contracts. I predict a no vote by MAG pilots with them not getting what they want.

The FFD world is going to implode if mainline doesn't start making changes to how they pay their regionals.

Jumpseating on a legacy carrier, they were talking about short cuts. They then mentioned that they heard some regionals on the radio turn down short cuts and it really befuddled them. I had to explain that the way the FFD contracts worked it might hurt a regional to take a short cut and get less block time. They thought such a contract arrangement was ludicrous. Welcome to FFD I told them.

"I want to stay on the flight plan route and fly .68 (as directed by SmartCI) for schedule integrity."
"Holmes. It's going to be 0230 local by the time we get to Deadmonton, Alberta, Canadia, we're 3 hours late, the people are tired and we have a 150 knot headwind betwixt here and there."
"BUT MUH BLOCK PRESERVATION/SMARTCI/WHATEVER!"
"Holmes. There are times to preserve the block, but this is not one of them."

I try to help the company out, but if we are late I am going to put the pax first.
In addition, last leg of the trip SmarCI is not a factor. Last leg of the day going to a nice overnight, again, SmartCI is not a factor.
At AQP our VP of operations actually said he understood the above, he understood commuters would not fly SmartCI on the last leg of the last day. He asked that we just fly it when practical, but always be the PIC and always consider the needs of the pax.

.68 is total torture. Just fly the way your supposed to and block will be preserved. That's how it got there in the first place.
It isn't if you're paid well. At my pay rate I'll fly it all day long if they want me to do so... except on the last day.

If you're paid well and you are a professional you do your JOB.... Flying .68 to make money and subsequently F the paying passengers in back isn't being the professional you were hired to be.

I'm all for making money. I however am not about making people miss connect, forcing an out station ramp crew to do a 20 minute turn or less because I needed to make money.

I'm sorry you can do your job and do the bare minimum and have the same results... Perhaps I'm crazy though....
