Rules question re dx cert

Can we dispatch with a photocopy of our certificate?
Lost mine this week running thru FRA.

No, it has to be replaced completely.

The FAA can fax/email you a letter stating that you have a dispatch certificate until your new one arrives.

Actually you need approval from your local CMO in order to dispatch from a temporary certificate. My shop got the approval earlier this year. If you don't have a physical ticket on your person, you are not supposed to be releasing flights.

Definitely cannot dx without cert or approved temp paperwork from FAA. Definitely not. no.
Things ended well. FA found my card on the plane and thru company "mail" it was spirited to me. So good ending to a bad story.
