Valdez STOL

A friend sent me some of the videos from the STOL.........some fun flying by some talented bush pilots. Just thought I'd share them for others to enjoy.

Here's how the Kiwis roll in Blenheim, New Zealand

I'm sure some of the [HASHTAG]#JCAlskaMafia[/HASHTAG] (thought I'd be hip and use one of those fancy hashtags) can chime in but is there a stock class of some sort? From what I remember reading in the past, they're basically building thier airplanes for that one contest. I would like to see guys with stock Super Cubs, Bird Dogs, Helio Couriers, etc partake. Either way those things are sweet. A Bird Dog is the only fixed wing I've been in that felt like an elevator. 60 degrees of flaps and those things will land short.

Looks like a great time

I made it! It was overcast and rainy most of the time. And I bought a turkey leg that I swear was ham and disgusting. But I was drunk. Would go again.
Maybe it was the infamous Alaskan Turpig that I have read some stories about from Inuit folklore. :D

I'm impressed with the stock class stuff. Those guys have some actual skill. Anyone can plant a 1000lb airplane on with 6 feet of suspension travel. Just stall it into the ground from 50 feet up.
