Cortisone injection

I injured my shoulder a few months back. It's not healing as was expected. I have another doctor's appointment scheduled in a couple of weeks. It's my understanding that in some cases a cortisone injection can help. Are there any FAA restrictions if that is what's recommended? Thanks.
 
I am obviously not a doctor, and I do not want to overstep my bounds/the rules here, ( so disclaimer - you should always ask your AME) but over the years I have had many cortisone injections for joint issues. Here's the rule for them:
"Injections of steroids for non-disqualifying conditions, such as joint or back discomfort which does not limit function, is disqualifying for 24 hours following the injection. The pilot may then return to flight duties and report the physician visit on the next medical application."

Depending on the issue, there is a new style injection that uses Plasma Rich Protein. Maybe more suitable for tennis and golfer's elbow than shoulder, not really sure but just thought I'd throw it out there.

Good luck getting an insurance company to pay for them, as they are still considered "experimental". You'll most likely need more than one and they can run from $800.00 to $1,200 a pop. There is also no guarantee that they will even work, and the data I have read is pretty conflicting.
