Autothrust Blue
Welcome aboard the Washington State Ferries
I was going to say, what's wrong with having a junior Captain force? If anything, management should be all over that - makes the segments cheaper per hour. (Besides! You could be a SouthernJets Tier One Captain™®© within four years of your hire date or whatever, instead of waiting 22 years to do it like some acquired, not hired SJI pilots!) Plenty of "other" airlines drive around the E-Jet with suuuuuper junior guys and seem to do it safely, so...Or just deal with the issues of having very junior 190 captains. Airways has made it work just fine and they aren't even "tier 1!!!".
Pilot compensation is a WAY smaller part of the big picture than we'd like to think it is. Although that's mostly because management is always telling us how much it effects things so we don't ask for too much of it.
To which one says, "so what?"If this process becomes too much of a headache with the pilots voting down the TA, is a possibility the Company might cancel the deal, drag negotiations out, and use the $1.1 billion to were giving to the pilots to buy used Airbuses or 717s.
(Those aircraft would in turn be flown by SJI pilots under their current Industry Leading™ Contract 2012 rates...)
