Thought I'd throw out an opportunity for someone with basic 135 mins to get some great turbine experience in a great plane. Many people come here looking for interim jobs to build quality time and I feel this is worth looking into if you're up to 1200 TT. Company is Martinaire based out of Addison(Dallas), TX and I've been positioned at KAVP in northeastern PA. I am moving on to the next job and the position is open. Base pay is 30K with $1500 signing bonus! PM me if interested!

@JeppUpdater

Is this due to all the regionals scooping up pilots like crazy right now?

Probably. Mountain Air Cargo is supposedly upping their pay to 40k a year for Caravan Captains, however they're still at 1500 mins and 34k for their first year pilots. It's nice to see things improving, but it's amazing what's considered good money when you're a pilot in the US.

so they already dropped to 1500 for caravans, I thought all fedex was 2000?

Might be their willingness to drop the insurance minimums to attract pilots to come work for them, since the regionals are starting to offer signing bonuses and hiring is really picking up

Empire has bumped first year Caravan pay up to almost $44k, and ATR FO first year to mid 30s. They're hiring like gangbusters all over the country and with any luck the other FedEx feeders will follow shortly.

Brown feeders, without exception, will work you harder and pay you less. The company may treat you great, but you still will never have the QOL of a purple feeder. With purple feeders dropping their hiring mins and raising their pay, there's really no reason to go to a brown feeder anymore. MUCH more stability at ANY FedEx feeder.

Do you think ups feeders are shooting themselves in the foot by not raising their pay to attract pilots more? Will not raising pay end up hurting them in the long run?

The Feeder aircraft are owned by fedex
Mountain Air Cargo, Empire, and a few other operate them.
Fedex pays for the training and maintenance.

Each operator has a 135 certificate of their own

Ya, but you'd be well over that at 6 months to a year at either AMF or encore and you don't have to fly a van. Career progression is still worth a lot at 1200TT. Then if the regionals are your goal there's no reason to fly any boxes.

Great question @Bamaaviator. With all the wanna be aviation Gods on this freighter topic who know it all (:sarcasm:) or atleast act like it. I'm very suprised none of these subject matter experots have replied.
