Guys, the jig is up. (KCM related media sensationalism)

That's your left wing media for you. Something's not "fair"; something's not "equal", and so we must expose this travesty of social justice and stand up for all those 99%r's who must endure normal screening......Oh, and generate some web traffic so we can charge more for advertising.

Did Steve and Silvia not look at the germanwings crash and figure out pilots don't need weapons to crash a plane?

Oh get out of here with that left wing media crap. This has about crap all to do with politics or the infamous liberal media. It has to do with one thing, and one thing only...ratings!

I would bet $50 dollars that the news station, anchors, journalists, and whomever don't care about KCM one way or another. All they care about is the idea that there could be a perceived threat involving air travel because the public just loves this crap and eats it up. The aviation industry is so hot right now when it comes to ratings...and ratings mean money.

This story isn't ABC11's attempt at blowing the whistle on a potentially dangerous practice because of their dedication to keeping the public safe...It's an attempt to get a piece of a money pie.

"Conservative Media" is really just as guilty.

She's going to say whatever she has to say in order to see her name in print.

Mary wants publicity, the news outlet that ran the story doesn't care about the content, they want "eyes on banner ads" and linkbacks.

Exactly my point...And that applies to ALL news outlets. From the farthest left leaning to the farthest right...and everything in between.

News shows, TV stations, radio stations, a LOT of websites are all in the business not of providing information to the public, but providing viewers to their paid advertisements.

See it all the time on social media:

"… AND YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT"
Yup.

I'm a really big fan of lists. you know the ones..."see the top 20 greatest horses in history," or "take a look at these top 10 worse celebrity sharts caught on camera." Love Em! Can't get enough...

What really pisses me off is when lists are broken into slide show type formats. One page for one list item. Click next to continue. No. I refuse to click through 20 pages just so you can refresh your adds and make more money. All that crap can easily go on one page. Breaking it up is nothing more than a cash grab.

At this point, I have the question if the average American is really dumb enough to take "news" for news anymore. At what point to people look at the major network news sites/programs as wide-spread tabloids and demand unbiased fact reporting? I mean, really. Sadly, I often get substantially better and more reliable information for reading wiki and checking up on sources than I do from most major articles.

I never watch the news anymore. I hate all the airports with CNN playing in the background, which is all of them. If it's newsworthy, someone will post it on Facebook anyway.

Unfortunately, that's a very filtered and curated experience, heavily biased towards boring human interest stories. (Read: not news.)
