PSA Street Captains?

Hearing unconfirmed reports that PSA is hiring Street Captains. Opportunities keep on opening up. #RunNeverWalk

As long as they fly with me, so I can fly on their rate. I mean the FO rate, then grieve the pay discrepancy when the company "misses" what rate I'm on.

I wonder if they'll hire them over the phone too.

Techinically they don't guarantee you a captain spot but they approved people with the 1000 SIC to be able to skip FO IOE and go right into upgrade training. With 36 upgrades a month indefinitely qualified pilots will hold captain during initial training. Nothing like the ole days when I had to wait 8 months to upgrade......

Conflicted but considering it. Gotta talk it over with some people.

The pay raise isn't THAT substantial. Throw in being on reserve again and the fact that, while rare, PIC isn't the end all to moving on it gives me pause.

Plus I can't afford to be an FO again, so if that doesn't work out...

It's not though. I know plenty of people with 1000hours of PIC that haven't been able to move on. It's enticing...and I haven't decided one way or another. But I need to figure some stuff out.

Yes, but most people who are moving on DO have the PIC. The other guys who have it and can't move on after a while usually have other problems standing in the way.

Yes, there was a company memo sent out with the revision for PIC.
