Ehhh...
Maybe it is me, but when I was at a regional and folks would ask me 'where do I want to continue my career', even though I had my preferences (I'm actually at my first choice), I said 'whichever place hired me first'.
Now, maybe things have changed, and legacy/major airlines have hired head hunters to just tell folks when to show up to class but everyone should be quite hungry and excited to work at ANY of the three legacy airlines out there. They should also be excited and hungry to get employed at places like Spirit, JetBlue, Virgin America, Southwest, Alaska, FedEx, UPS, Hawaiian, etc.
Like I said, maybe things have changed.
My app is on file, and I think I'd be a good contribution to, well, any of those places. In particular, Virgin would be awesome (steps are being taken towards that end as well), and I would hang my non-hat there and ditch my tie any time. (And I've applied to 5 of those 7 carriers too, thanks. "Not yet.") I will happily fly a 717 over the beach with @BobDDuck should the occasion arise.Maybe it is me, but when I was at a regional and folks would ask me 'where do I want to continue my career', even though I had my preferences (I'm actually at my first choice), I said 'whichever place hired me first'.

Delta is more exciting to me than your employer is because of their stated and demonstrated commitment to being the best, and that is very appealing to me.
Getting it right matters to me.
Me, I have zero want to work for Fedex. The science doesn't lie, those guys died very young.Who wouldn't be excited to work at FedEx!?!?
One of my fellow Eagle Scouts from back in "the day" is spawn of a FDX pilot. His dad looked like he was 60 when he was about 45.Me, I have zero want to work for Fedex. The science doesn't lie, those guys died very young.
That actually has very little to do with my feelings on the issue. (Maybe it does, but you'll have to remember that my genetic advantage is acquired, not hired.) Culture is huge, and indeed possibly dealbreaking, for me.Legacy!

The folks hired at Pan Am, Eastern, and TWA in 1975 thought 'they got it right'.
You saw what happened to their companies in the 1980s.
Don't over think this.
I agree with you there. I believe you'll be out very soon.Getting it right matters to me.
Perhaps.I agree with you there. I believe you'll be out very soon.
You...you...you have a heart?
