Delta Disqualifiers

I grew up about as far from the south as is possible in the CONUS, and one of the most important life lessons I've learned since Uncle Sam has sent me to live all over the US is that sweet tea is the true nectar of the Gods, and drinking unsweet tea is downright unAmerican.

I will cut you!

If you're not drinking your tea hot, after pre-warming the teapot and steeping for exactly 4 minutes (no more, no less), adding just a smidgen of milk and a tiny bit of sugar then you're not actually drinking TEA.

This is the actual recipe for sweet tea.

Blasphemy! Boil your tea. When properly steeped, add the hot tea to 2 cups of sugar in a heatproof container. Mix well. Add water until container is full. Put in the fridge to chill.

Now having said that, I went off of sugar a while back (no more soda or sweet tea). So now I drink unsweetened tea. BUT when I order it, I throw in my Southern drawl so they won't mistake me for a Yankee.

The accent, you're doing it wrong.

That sounds like a lot of work. Isn't it easier to just throw some saccharine in it? Nobody can tell the difference.
