Ran across this while looking at some news sites. This company recently purchased two Nextant 400XTi Biz Jets ( http://www.nextantaerospace.com ). I have no other connection with this information.

PlaneSense, Inc. is currently accepting resumes for Portsmouth, NH (PSM) Atlanta, GA (PDK) & Orlando, FL (MCO) based First Officer positions. Our next scheduled F.O classes are scheduled for early summer through fall 2015.

In our screening process, we look for pilots with strong work ethic and exceptional skills that adapt well to the ever changing environment that fractional flight operations demand. Crews must live within 100 miles of PSM, PDK or MCO and must hold a current and valid FAA Commercial or ATP pilot license with single and multiengine land ratings. Our First Officers minimums are 1000 hours total flight time/fixed wing.

Pilots must also hold a current and valid second class FAA medical and possess a current Passport with unrestricted international travel privileges, and a valid drivers license. The following experience is preferred but not required: Part 135 and/or Part 91 subpart K; Corporate flight; and/or flight time in advanced avionics systems or glass systems.

Please send resume to careers@planesense.com or fax it to 603-590-7954 with the following information:

  • Flight times
  • Copy of your medical certificate,
  • Copy of your pilot certificate and/or your current ratings. (must include SEL)

Worked there some years back, it was a good first gig. I def wouldn't go there if you want to build multi time though. I'd imagine all the senior guys are still itching to fly a twin.

Ah they finally got jeeeeets eh? I remember a few years ago they were on board for that swearingen jet that turned out to be vaporware.

Back when I was there the Grob jet was the "saving grace." Then it crashed during testing and 2008-2009 happened...

It was a mixed blessing that the SPn didn't make it, if it had, we would have started getting deliveries right about the same time the economy went down the toilet.

The schedule is 8 on, 6 off, with a one week vacation per year to start. FO starting pay is still $30k for the first 6 months.

There's no awarding for bases, you just live near one of them. Now which base they're hiring for, I'm not sure, but usually it's for any of them, so I wouldn't be too concerned.

Found this in my emails this morning. It talks about PlaneSense and their expected jet deliveries thru 2017. Starting at 1:44

They were hiring for PSM and PDK, and I think MCO as well when they scheduled my interview a few months ago. I was actually supposed to interview a week from today, but took a better paying job instead.

So I'm fairly certain they are looking for people to fill all three bases.

I'm willing to relocate for this job, but do you think my resume will just get thrown in the circular file since my current address is >100 miles?

I sent them a message, and they said that you basically had to be able to make a 2 hour callout, and that they weren't necessarily going to be taking a ruler to anything.

Just had dinner with a friend who is there. He couldn't be happier after being a regional pilot for 7.5 years (with no upgrade in sight). I'm not sure about the distance part, he did move close to his base.

did this guy just buy a house near portsmouth with his wife and he's currently upgrading? if so, ask him if he feels like doing a couple cargo runs to the islands.

Sorry, I think we are talking about different people.

Our First Officers minimums are 1000 hours total flight time/fixed wing.

If they want FOs to stick around longer than 500 hours they will need to lower their requirements. Single engine planes usually don't do well at satisfying SJS.

They will generally hire based on lower hours if you have other qualifications that help you stand out. Our attrition rate is pretty standard for the industry. Some go, some stay, but we'll usually keep people for 2-3 years. We have a mix of pilots from various backgrounds, and most new hire classes are a mix of: instructors, regional, survey, charter, military, and legacy. Classes are full and scheduled out to the end of 2015, but that isn't hard for a small company. Will you fly one of the jets? Maybe, if you stick around long enough. In the meantime, the company treats us well, the planes are kept in great shape, and the Pilatus is a fun place to fly.
