SouthernJets 757 Gossip

The Chinese 757s are the last ones built and they will replace older ones on the line, which in turn will be parted out. Same as the parked planes. Maybe a few more on line, but the category ain't growing.

Hey… HEY! Off the internet and go study for your upgrade, sir. :)

A little birdy says they're picking up some later-model 757s from Asia and also pulling some "mothballed" 75s from dry storage in the desert. Apparently, despite what Boeing says, the 737-900 is no 757 replacement.
Hmm, maybe I will get my hands on one. I missed the 727...

One could only wish!

I've heard Delta is very happy with the 737-900ER performance. Increased margins from lower fuel costs and pax love the modern cabin. Pilots and FAs don't love the plane but I doubt that bothers revenue management and network planning.

With the abundance of long runways at most major hubs domestically, not a lot of city pairs require 757 performance.

If LGA authorities decide to allow transcon flights as rumored, expect a 757 party up there!
