I don't think I ever paid anything to be in AOPA but they always send me CFI gifts and the like. Their mailing have been dwindling which has been nice.

For group life on Alaska 135 pilot AOPA pretty much the only thing I found that does not cost a arm and leg. I have also found on a state level here they advocate the interests of 135 operators and are involved in commercial safety initiatives. Though probably unique to Alaska as GA and 135 needs line up more often than not.

Now if I could get them to stop sending me the magazine of big watches and articles of why I need a Cirrus... ya... that would be great.

Then there stance on user fees, pilot 'bill of rights' legislation, and no medical certificate push for smaller aircraft pilots is very detrimental, to a healthy and safe airspace system.

If the slum lord wants cheaper insurance, EAA seems like the better organization and truly cares about the real GA Pilots.

Considering that I have no desire to ever own anything termed "experimental," didn't seem to make much sense.
