Foreflight for iPad is pretty much the industry standard.
No it isn't. JeppFD and JeppFD Pro are the industry standard.

Ya, but you need the back of the 10-9 page for 135 IFR ops. The NOS charts don't even have the information anywhere. Not in the front or anything.I'm pretty sure that @Capt. Chaos uses non part 97 approaches in foreflight. If you can get a PDF of it, you can drop it right into foreflight.
Like I said, I know a guy who is using it up here 135 IFR for an EFB. Don't know the ins and outs as I've never used foreflight for more than VFR stuff.Ya, but you need the back of the 10-9 page for 135 IFR ops. The NOS charts don't even have the information anywhere. Not in the front or anything.
There is no way I can safely and legally do my job with Foreflight alone. Which is why our company ipads have Foreflight and JeppView.
Maybe for the big leagues that have already sold their soul to Jepp (for the record, Jepp makes a nice plate, but they're awful proud of their product and the distribution method kind of sucks). For GA (which is what the OP is asking about) foreflight is the 800 lb gorilla. No it isn't. JeppFD and JeppFD Pro are the industry standard.
Oh that aspect is great, I just wish they'd designed the plates some other way than loading the information in a shotgun and firing it at the page.I'd still rather just have a huge box of NOS charts show up every 90 or so days. No batteries, no updates, no fuss, no muss. Just have to find a place to put the damned things. One fewer idiotic detail to worry about.

To be fair, my current shop uses a mix of naco and Jepp and I've somehow managed to survive. If I were to try to use one today, it might be a bit of a poopshow, but I used the things for years flying crap equipment in ridiculous weather, and it never confused me enough to hit anything. I think you (and I, to be fair) might be getting a bit SOFT, Grandfather.
We use the NOS charts. Except for Dutch. I really prefer the NOS charts.Ya, but you need the back of the 10-9 page for 135 IFR ops. The NOS charts don't even have the information anywhere. Not in the front or anything.

I noticed that the other day. I was shocked. My single biggest complaint about Jepps is that the approach plate does not have the runway length.
I actually prefer NOS charts. Easy to use, and has the info I need.

Then you must not have or use C079. Which I find unlikely. That information is not on a NOS plate.Like I said, I know a guy who is using it up here 135 IFR for an EFB. Don't know the ins and outs as I've never used foreflight for more than VFR stuff.
What info is that? I just read our Opspecs, and I dont see anything we dont have in the NOS plates. Or maybe I am just blind. Then you must not have or use C079. Which I find unlikely. That information is not on a NOS plate.
Ok, so pull out your NOS plates. What is the lowest takeoff mins in ANC on 7R authorized by your opspecs? What if the HIRL is out? What if the center line lights are out? Is the runway standard to begin with? What info is that? I just read our Opspecs, and I dont see anything we dont have in the NOS plates. Or maybe I am just blind.
You strained the fuel on the 1900??Seriously? I rented from several places in Georgia and Florida back in the '90s and early '00s, and none of them kept strainers in the plane. Always had to bring my own.
No it isn't. JeppFD and JeppFD Pro are the industry standard.
I'm not. Can't stand NOS.The 121 operators who MUST use Jepp apps per the FAA will use them, but almost everyone else is moving to Froeflight. I can't think of a 91 pilot who isn't using Foreflight.
Would the VFR sectionals, IFR low and high en-route charts on Foreflight satisfy this requirement?
