Delta off the Runway - LGA

I'm fine with it saying Express, or however they want to brand it, as long as the name on the company name on the side matches the name on the paycheck, and I'm not talking about the super-fine print usually covered up by the jetbridge.

That said, there are days I wish it said WidgetLink and not Death Star Express, yes.

Goals:

Impress @Autothrust Blue's mom

Who gives an S who's name is on the side of the airplane! Who gives an S whether it's self loading bags, or the kind you have to load yourself. How much does it pay, how much time off will I get?

Because if the big name on the side of the airplane isn't the one matching the name on the paycheck, the name on the paycheck can very well end up being your state's unemployment office and your airplane being a cardboard box you sit in in your living room making flying hand gestures talking about "the good old days at X." That's why it matters.

Are you guys allowed to use max auto braking when landing? We are not...medium only.

I stand corrected...I fly the Bus but I am a Boeing refugee.. We use Medium not Max which is the equivalent of Boeing RTO. Max is a takeoff setting only.

I just am not to good at speaking Airbus sometimes. I really talk quite well about the "trailing edge of Technology" the DC-9/MD-80, and I have a general fluency in B737, but I am a novice at Bus lingo.

You are correct.

"Spot 48 Turn left"

"Turn left where"

"Left"

"That isn't an instruction."

Eh, who cares? I usually only hear that when they are trying to sneak you in front of another aircraft before you exhange your information. I would much rather do that than have to wait for the AA -80 crawling past me. Besides, they will immediately give you a proper instruction after you tell them who you are.

You completely missed my point.

Very well said.

Keep moving until they match.

Me too, you have the floor sir!

I like it old school:

"It's your honor, your Honor."

I don't know how else I can put it. Every airline has gone through furloughs. Every. Last. One. So, my point is be happy for what you have. Don't lull oneself into a false sense of security that just because the names match on the check and the airplane, you are immune to it. Be happy for what you have, even if it's not what you want.

Yes and no.

You're not going to be comfortable and succeed. There were a lot of Comair pilots that were happy with what they had right up until the day they parked their jets.

Personally, I wasn't going to be happy until I at least matched the check with the side of the plane so I could worry about other things like instead of hustling from job to job.

Does this count?

I said happy, not comfortable. Big difference. I'd like the "BBD," and when it's time, it'll happen.
