Delta off the Runway - LGA

I really with we could measure braking action from the anti-skid and accelerometers and automatically uplink that data to a central database. Then we'd have usable, scientific, up-to-date information about actual conditions than simple subjective observations.
I think it'd be cool to do this with a lot of things. Winds aloft, etc.

Good thing Delta has such a rigorous hiring process....

Cold...cold...and hard.

Back in the day, when I slid off a runway, I was met at the airstairs by a lawyer asking if my back hurt and offering me a ride to the terminal in his V12 BMW if I said yes. Then the news crew asked if I had a comment in exchange for a hot chocolate from their van. It was a long cold, lonely, thirsty, walk back to the terminal.

Be careful kid, you will poke your eye out with that selfie stick.

All accidents on RWY13/31 in the last twenty five years or so. Think that might send up a red flag to someone?

Just listening to the Live ATC clip it sounds like he gives a "Good" braking action reported by an A319 right around that time.

I'll tell you what though....Sometimes you can see where everyone has made their turnoff on the same taxiway, and beyond it the RWY looks like hell. Happened to us at JFK not too long. CA lands kinda long (right at end of TDZ lights) and we end up in the snow past where everyone was making the turnoff. Went from Good (where everyone had been) to Poor...

Eek. I'm a poor swimmer.

I mean, of course, apart from that first "sprint for the finish line" I took back in the early 1970's after an evening of dinner, dancing and heavy petting.

All the brothers are..... ;-) At least in the Navy Bootcamp. Which begs the question.....If you cant swim, why join the Navy,

Yeah, the Good-Nill scale is still really subjective. You can have two different planes/crews land on the same runway and get two different reports. Are they light? Do they brake just up to the point of the anti skid kicking in, or do they just jam on the brakes and let the anti skid do its thing? Like you pointed out, there are a lot of variables. I very much prefer mu values...you know...science!
