My wallet lives buried in my laptop bag. The passport is either in a quicker access pocket in the lappy bag or in my blazer inside pocket. Much mo easier.

No, that seems like exactly the point. Let me see if I have the facts straight...

1. ALPA paid for it.
2. Other non ALPA carriers are allowed to use KCM.

Now the part I am muddy on...if I as a Teamster walk through KCM am I actively costing ALPA money that is not reimbursed Via the charges my carrier pays to use it? If yes, then gee that is sure crappy. If No, then why waste ANY cares on it? You're just pissed off on principle. That's silly.
