^Now that's a packed lineup!
Great WNW swell peaked here in SoCal yesterday... A buddy took me out to Sunset Cliffs (Point Loma), which is a prime winter swell magnet. Big, cold waves, but very, very fun. As the tide went out, sets built into the double overhead range, but still maintained a slope-y, fat, not-so-critical shape. The longboard worked fantastically... Lots of speed on tap. Definitely the biggest waves I've ridden so far, but the forgiving shape made it fun and not as intimidating as expected. Loooong paddle... The wave breaks about 1/4 mile out. Thankfully lots of good channels.
Oh and
@fender_jag, a guy from Santa Cruz was there in the lineup with his joyless girlfriend. Sheesh, you guys DO like to surf, right?

I wanted to tell him "Hey, welcome to San Diego. We're pretty chill down here. Relax and enjoy yourself."
