Fuel Cards

I know this has been discussed here before and I already used the search function just looking for some newer and more up to date information. What do you guys use? Both fuel discount cards and actual fuel purchasing cards for your Jet-A charter aircraft?

If you qualify and travel to their FBO's on a semi regular basis, nothing is better then CAA.

We carry about 5-6 cards in every plane. Management has told us that we need to start contacting Colt, UV, etc and find out where the cheapest fuel prices are when we go to a destination. Yeah right.

You guys don't have dispatchers who can get that info for you?

How excatly does it work? Does it just give you the prices for all the fuel programs do you can easily pick the cheapest

Pretty much, gives all the info possible such as ramp fee waved at XXX Gal, Volume pricing, and all the contract fuel prices available. after we chose what we want we dispatch a fuel release and usually dont have to deal with the cards but sometimes we use them as a backup as sometimes it takes a while for the FBO to get the fuel release (especially on weekends) It even has a fuel tankering option which will show you how much fuel and where to get it to save the most $$$ However we have found this option hit or miss.

For a small department, I don't think fuelerlinx is worth the money. I use CAA, Everest and Avfuel. Between the three of them i'm always paying less then retail. I don't see much point in carrying 15 cars to save an additional .04 cents/gallon. Too many accounts to reconcile at the end of the month.
