I just had a thought and tweeted it to United. Is stories of serial killers, Ebola, and terrorism really what we want people to be hearing about just prior to boarding an airplane?

I'm the last person to say "but think of the children!" but the detail they were going into just now on CNN about finding a bunch of dead chicks on Ohio wasn't exactly fit for the ears of everyone.
 
I don't even think we should have televisions on in airports anyway. Not that I want to pull the wool over anyones eyes, it's primarily just noise pollution.

I was always jealous of walking through major European airports full of people and it's almost whisper quiet and very calm.

Of course, compared to sitting at ATL's gate A-19 and getting screamed at about "THIS IS A SECURITY ALERT!" which never is, and the idiotic babblings of Nancy Grace at 90db.

Or even the overhead PAs every 15 minutes that say, "The Transportation Security Administration has indicated there is an existing threat to aviation..."

What does that even mean? What should average Joe Passenger do with that information?
