Made the first turnoff, too...

"Don't start none...won't be none" :)

Metro pilots drink 1900 pilots under the table. It's true. I read it on the internet somewhere.

I'd have to drink heavily just to justify waking up in the morning if I flew a metro ;)

AMF assigned pilots the 1900 as some sort of corporal punishment. ;)

Instead of lashes to the back, it was two years hard time in the hondo.

Plenty of rumors... They want them. Probably go with CRJ though

Our exemption and scope with FedEx would allow it. I give it 2 years before they get serious.

Training would probably be a day. Haha

There are already package freighter converted CRJ's running around Europe. When I heard the company talking about how we had "the options for the first freighter CRJs" I may have actually laughed out loud.

Worked like a champ. Instant reverse because the engines were already spooled up, unlike a PT-6 *spit*. In my experience, reverse on the 99 kicked in just about the time you didn't need it anymore. The Marquises with the -10s and four blade props were stunning. You got weight on wheels and pulled the levers over the gate and it was like hitting a freaking wall, hanging in the straps. I'm pretty sure I could get a Marquise stopped in 500 feet if my life depended on it. Another amazing airplane murdered by the Safety Mafia.

That's probably because the Mits was already in high idle when you landed, or at least I assume it is, because that's how the Metro was. I agree in general about PT6, but I haven't tried to land with it in high idle yet. I'll let you know after Sunday.

Awww, yeah. Just Mitsing it, no big thing.

To be fair, if they'd needed the medical supplies in the swamp behind the airstrip, they could have just as easily called a King Air, i suppose.

Although who put a GPWS in a Mitsi is beyond me. Don't they know the system is worth more than the airplane?

All I got was an alert on my computer saying "sorry, I can't play this for you as the speakers can't be turned up loud enough to make it realistic"

Well, I think they all have to spool back up when you go to reverse (imagine just instantly applying that sort of force in the opposite direction). It's just that turboshafts do it much faster. Sort of like a supercharger vs. a turbocharger.

Surprisingly quiet on the inside...well ok maybe not "quiet" but not nearly as loud as certain other turboprops I could name.

Heard a Moo2 check on the other day. You could hear the scream of that thing through his headset. My ears bled just thinking about enduring that. :)
Never flown a MU2 but in general I think Garretts are quieter inside than pratts because the prop turns so much slower. You don't really hear the compressor noise in the cabin like you do on the ground. Shoot even on takeoff I think the Garavan is quieter than then Pratt, again because the prop turns slower. The only time the Garrett is really louder is on taxi.
