Ameriflight

When I was there, the first half of the list were lifers/management, the last half were an almost daily change of people. I wonder how it differs now.

Well, it screws over all the guys that meet that requirement at AMF because from what I understand, the agreement is that you cannot work at AMF and apply to Allegiant without going through the "preferential hiring" agreement. So it doesn't help those that didn't meet the initial agreement requirements.

I've never seen a regional fly A320 series, MD80, and 757 airplanes - Guess spirit, and frontier are too!

What does the equipment have to do with whether they're a regional or not? They are a national but still, might as well be a regional. Allegiant flies Stockton to Las Vegas, that's a short run for a Brasilia, even shorter in a mad dog.

They also fly Las Vegas to Plattsburg NY and Grand Island NE. I still don't see the point here? They're making money on odd routes, where as a regional's general purpose is to connect the spoke cities to the larger hub. That's not necessarily how Allegiant operates.

Ya, and I have flown MSP to LAX in a CRJ... The point is, they are not a high desirable major, they are a lower tier national. It is basically a regional with slightly better pay as previously stated. That said it is better than a regional, and a fantastic next step for any AMFer.

You'll get crapped on like a regional. With pay scales almost to match. Per seat they are lower than some regionals. And the contra... oh.. wait.

For an AMFer that has put up with AMF's crap long enough to get the recommendation or whatever, they might fit in perfectly.... they already have buckets of lube.

I don't even see the debate here. Md80 or 757 overwater trumps any regional dot period. Then consider the agreeable time to left seat. If it was me, I'd be there over any regional hands down. YYMV I guess....

Non-commutable, laughable pay at the front end (considering you make more flying a 99 starting sunday than an FO at Allegiant). What's not to love

Do they go over water? Last I remember LAS HNL didn't work out.

Like I said. It's all up to personal opinion. If i was flying little jets I'd be all over md80's with a comparable upgrade time. Thought they were flying 75's from Geg to Maui last winter. They make money and they have skeds without overnights. Big jet pic time would stand out in mind.

My personal take is that it makes more sense for an AMF guy to go there if they can't badger their way into what they want. Spirit, Frontier, and JetBlue would probably be better though. I'd say 80% of the pilots here now have 3000 hours or less, so that probably wouldn't happen. Allegiant, at the very least, does what the regionals do. Checks the box. More-so being a heavy jet I'd say though.

How do you like it there @Avalon781ML ?

You can PM me if you want. :)

People sure do like to crap on other peoples job on this message board.

Damn skippy. Some people sure do have a bug up their ass about certain companies. Allegiant has good things and bad things about it just like every other airline. I know most of the pilots at allegiant enjoy the out and back schedules. If you don't want that kind of schedule, don't apply. Pretty simple.

They do still have a HNL base. I see the 757 parked on the ramp every day.
