Can anyone provide any information on Pacific Wings

Is that meant to be a question? In high school graduate English, it reads as a written invitation to conjecture as to one's own illiteracy, which is, I grant you, rather hilarious. I fear unintentionally so.

Glad you enjoyed it.

I understand and hear loud and clear what everyone is saying about the company. I know im preaching to the choir, but it really frustrating that we as pilots spends thousands and thousands of dollars to get our ratings, but then its still not enough. With the 1500 hour rule in effect its killing me as well as other pilots. If i could just get to 500 im sure a lot more opportunities would come up, but at this point, its getting there thats the problem. Im not going to sell myself short by working for a company who's number one concern isnt safety.

Ive looked into Mokulele Air in Hawaii, but i can not find where or how to apply..

Again, thanks for all of the feedback

Nah....... No sense of entitlement here. Even at 1500 hrs, you still won't know WTF you are doing in an airplane. And if you think you do, then you REALLY don't know WTF you are doing in an airplane.

Here's a tip from someone who's been at the airlines since the mid 1980s. There isn't ONE airline, from the crappiest 135 to the mightiest major, who's number one concern is safety. They might SAY it is......

I need to get my airplane umbrella then if 1500hr pilots don't know how to fly then!!! ;)

Seriously, in 2012? I was hired at 9w in 2011 with 1300TT and zero turbine... I thought everyone was hiring like gangbusters in 2012.

Sorry I don't know who 9W is?

EDIT: Google revealed 9w as Jet Airways in India?

There was a good amount of movement then, but still a backlog of guys trying to get in. They had just started offering the 5k bonus and PNCL's BK was still fresh, Comair was in its death throes, and there were a couple high time corporate guys looking to check the 121 box. In my new hire class of 22, only two had no turbine. Come to think of it I interviewed with a mil reservist, a MD11, and 737 FO who didn't get the job.

The CHQ program has been softened quite a bit, but at the time it had a rep for being quite vigorous. Prior turbine and 1500tt was pretty much required, it's no coincidence that the standard has since dropped...

I'm not trying to be the one to pee in your Cheerios, but finding a good job is generally ALWAYS going to be hard. I get really tired of the "I spent thousands and now I can't find a job" line. You know what? The writing was on the wall before you started flight training. I busted my butt to find my first job. I worked for a couple sketchy flight departments and quickly ran the other way. I flew skydivers. I cold-called Chief Pilots and various flight departments. I went to every local airport within about 100 miles looking for work. And at the end of the day... Nothing. So I went back to school and got my CFI. And I did it for cheap. Because like you, I was pretty much broke. Fast forward a couple years and here I sit at 1500 hours. Once again on the job hunt. And you know what's changed? Absolutely nothing. There are sketchy operators that will just as quickly take advantage of me now as when I had 300 hours. It's just as hard now as it was then to find a good job. So get used to it, and don't complain. We get it, we know. We ALL have been where you are now and managed to get where we are (mostly) by avoiding crap operators.

Where do you live in South Florida? Have you been to any drop zones personally to beg for a job? How about traffic watch jobs? How many people do you know at the local airports? Start pounding pavement. Get out there and meet people.

My first job in aviation was at a drop zone. My wife had bought me a jump for my birthday, and while waiting, I was talking to the owner. I asked if he needed pilots, and he said absolutely, stop by after and talk to him. I worked there part time for 2 seasons, while flight instructing. I had 190tt at the time. YMMV.
And this is how it's done right here ^^ My first 3 jobs (2 were dropping divers and 1 was traffic watch) were from showing up, and refusing to stop bugging the owners. They finally gave in. When you have low time, you have to do what it takes.

I'm sorry, but this is BS. You will never know everything there is to know about flying. However, if you still don't know what you're doing after 1500 hours of doing so, then maybe it's time to be a plumber or truck driver.

Every one of your posts thus far comes across as extremely grumpy and curmudgeony. Not a good way to start things off on a forum that's new to you...

I know a lot more at 1500 hours than some pilots I've flown with who had 4000+ hours. That's not to say I'm some super pilot, but that there are really bad pilots out there. Time spent in an aircraft is no measure of one's abilities. Quality time however is.

I beg for your forgiveness. Will you let me in the cool kids club?

Anyone have any news or updates about this operation?
