All aboard the USS NopeNope

I would crap myself and cry in a corner. You can quote me on that and put it on your signature. I'm going to have nightmares of that.

Helicopters scare the poop out of my.

Hell, I will barely walk into the galley when the door is open.

Oh come on Doug. Come along sometime. You'd love it. Go to the cliff edge of a mountain with the helo, nose it over and head straight down from the cliff. Fun!

Just the other night, dark as heck, trolling low level...10 AGL and about 15 knots, looking for some escaped suspects in the desert. No moon, so NVGs aren't helping much at all, and while coming forward and flying looking downward, a set of powerlines about from my height to about 50 AGL looms slowly out of the darkness....didn't even know they were there. But the slow speed allowed for a slow stop, rise straight up to go over them, cross them, and come back down and resume the search......taking mental note of their location. Definitely got rid of any tiredness.

My first thought watching that was an assumption that he was there specifically to dust underneath the power line, maybe because fixed wing couldn't/didn't.
