Can anyone provide any information on Pacific Wings

Where to start.... It seems like a lot of posters here say to run and run fast but after two and a half years of employment with them (think I hold the record for lasting the longest) perhaps I can shed some current light. I'm not saying I disagree with the running idea.

I was hired there with 250.4 hours and literally a paper commercial certificate. I had no Cfi and no money to continue flying I accepted flying there after reading all these forums with literally no options. Where can a pilot go with a single cpl and 250 hours? Anyway, was it bad? Absolutely fu$@ing horrible! A lot of the things I've read are just simply not true... I watched guys lose their license flying there, I got written up more times than I can count, I was pressured to do things that weren't morally or legally justifiable I'd have to be up at 4am to deice my own airplane, check in pax, load bags and depart single pilot IFR in a single engine at night in ice over mountainous terrain. I survived by just dealing with crap, having thick skin and flying as much as possible and building up my log book. If you're the type that can handle really rude, micromanaging people and ALWAYS stick to your guns in terms of safety and regs you'll be just fine. The Jumpseat privileges are cool I got to travel a lot for free places like Hawaii from abq and across the country with no real issues. The pay is whatever but were pilots so what can you expect? QOL isn't great but again it's a time builder. I got a new job flying jets making way more than the regionals because of the fact that it's 135 flying, turbine time, and a lot of good IFR experience. It gave me the flight time and experience to land a dream job for me. That's the flip of the coin bust your ass doing slave labor for a little while and reap the rewards afterwards. It's your choice had I been a Cfi mei whatever my company would have never taken a second look at me. Soooo in that regard it was good PM if you have any questions and I can give you a more detailed run down of what it's like.

So in other words......RUN!! You're a better man than most of us on here there is no way I could've put up with that stuff my hats off to you man or would it be a Woman with that username?

I don't know why, but I crack up laughing everywhere I see this! LOL

Never worked there, but both people I've met that worked there were hired with 250 hours and regretted ever taking the job, one walked away with a violation that he'll carry for the rest of his career.

All for what? 20? 25K?/yr sounds, like you'd be better off instructing in the current environment... what? no CFI you say? Tow banners, area photography, pipeline, drug running (sounds like same thing basically, but with much better pay), right seat 135 cargo etc.

Joking about the drug running...
You can be violated anywhere you work should you take personal responsibility for your actions. Name one company that would not throw a pilot under the bus.

You claim that find me one job that'll hire with 250. I looked at sky diving, Ariel photography, and banner towing all required 500 hours. The turbine time and pic time in a 135 airline took me from the van to a well paying Lear job that I only have to work 250 hours a year that's salary.

Haha and yea no go on the drug running they require at least a thousand ;)

Hahaha I mean if you don't wana deal with the bs than yes RUN FAST na dude I'm a guy with a chick last name. I didn't pick it. Since Hanna Montana has been around I've been doomed. The military was hell

Boots being painted? I was flying in Georgia and New Mexico. That's a fallacy they have the faa on them like a fly on . People have been violated there. Sure but that's every where. It's not exclusive to pw and honestly if you look into the details were they doing something wrong? I'm not saying it's cool or anyone deserves to have that stuff on their record. Being fired for no reason... Well yes and no did they ask you to do crappy things? Yea completely I hated doing the majority of the stuff I had to do to stay employed but I mean.... That's life sometimes.

Yeah, well, that one I saw with my own two eyes. Even reached up and touched it.

The wing of the caravan is about 13 feet off the ground. Boots feel hard when the are deflated the feel metallic you can knock on them and hear the hollowness of the wing. At least on the caravan. I'm not calling you a liar by any means my tenure with Georgia skies was short lived I was only there for about seven months before they closed shop. Maybe it was before me.

I have 1000 hours in the caravan. I can guarantee they do not feel metallic with boots. I could reach them when I got into the airplane. I can also guarantee Boris knows what boots feel and look like on an airplane. I trust when he says he saw what he saw.

You yourself said you did things you hated doing to stay employed, you were written up numerous times, and saw people violated. How about we agree it was a crap show you flew for and that people shouldn't go there, just like in all of the other PW threads on here? Deal?

What...what are you talking about?

No, actually good companies will support a pilot for writing something up if its legitimate. Not put them on blast via the company email list for writing up something that could get you hurt.

There's a a big difference. Its really sad to hear someone defen that place.

I'd literally rather bartend on South Beach and the Dolphin Mall (and I did).

Wait, when did write ups for mx come into the conversation? When at all did I defend them?

So if you break a FAR a "good company" will just look the other way and hide it?

Look when someone says they reached up and touched it how would that make sense? He didn't say he opened the door and touched them. Why is everyone trying to get on my azz? Did any of you read what I wrote? I clearly said run I was simply giving an in sight into my experience because someone asked. The job sucks, so do a lot of jobs. I'm not defending them and I hated it but they have me a chance when no one else would I didn't even have a multi rating. So they gave me company write ups big deal! My PRIA was great when I left because they were all bs. So I worked there to get flight time. Off all the people bashing me how many of them actually worked there? Instead they bartenders and didn't have the experience I had yet come here and run mouths what's wrong everyone? Why is everyone so upset about it? This industry is full of hear say and rumors.

Okay please explain how they feel. They aren't soft and and smuch they have to maintain the shape of the airfoil so how could the be anything but rigid?
Have you flown an airplane that actually had boots, and not painted on ones? They're rubber and feel like rubber, not aluminum. They have ridges in them, so, yes, they have the basic airfoil shape, but not necessarily "smooth".

Nope never have you got me. All I'm saying is if you push on them they are firm. Hard to the surface.
