I know a guy making 45K to fly a sovereign.
I'm sure you know who I'm talking about... There have been recent developments at that place that would make any respectable pilot's stomach turn.Is it based at CRG? Surely that can't be full time...
Basically yes... PIC typed, logging PIC time every other leg. Putting that cool 45K in the bank...45K as PIC?
Yea... And the icing: it's a PFT op. So they pay for the privilege to make those big bucks.Congrats! He is literally the lowest paid sovereign captain in the world. I hope…Maybe there is someone making even less?
I agree it's high, but the NE ain't cheap. I would agree that 120 is a low number and 140 would be tops. Also, there is not a ton of 680 pilots out of work. We just hired a guy and he was tough to find.
Did you buy the type without a job? Most people get the job and their company pays for the type. There's is an outfit based of Vermont (Burlington I think) that almost exclusively flies Sovereigns. And I'm sure 135 and 91 departments all over both coasts will have one here and there.I just finished my initial training and received a PIC type on the Sovereign. I can't seem to find any outfits looking for an FO on a Sovereign. Was wondering if anyone knew of a place?

Good for you! That may be a difficult type to break into the corporate/135pax ops world with but it is a great type to have if you can find a job with it. Most people start out in the BE400 or CE500 because almost every charter department has them. Anyways, good luck! I wish I could be of more help but the only place I know people at isn't somewhere you would want to work. Not exactly no. CAE Simuflite gives out 6 type rating scholarships every year. I was one of this year's lucky recipients and I received a PIC type on the Sovereign. I'm a younger guy, graduated from a 141 school/university a few years ago. I have an ATP and I would really like to enter the Corporate world (either 135, or 91) on a Sovereign if possible. Here's my main issue, I can't seem to find anyone looking for an FO on a Sovereign (maybe I'm looking in the wrong places), but also I have no turbine time in my log book. But I do have the PIC type on the CE680 . . for whatever that is worth. Any suggestions? I'd really like to avoid the regional airline world if possible....

Ain't that the truth !Thanks! And yeah it definitely is not easy to break into the industry. Everything seems to be a catch-22. You cannot get the job unless you have time in type and you cannot get time in type unless you have the job...hmm....
