Malaysian 777 Plane Crashes in Ukraine

I think there's more, a lot more to flying combat fighters than managing a computer...

Yea but...

Ah, no. They flew the planes, made the kills, have their own training, etc, etc.

Pretty sure I saw them training in the US... Yep, for sure I did.

So? We train lots of pilots, over 40 nations but the Israeli pilots do all their own flight training. They may come here for more advanced training, NSAWC, Red Flag, etc but but they still fly their aircraft in combat.

I have reached the point of "Look, we tried to help, but you guys just keep going back to this war of religion that you just can't get over, so 'eff off! ALL OF Y'ALL! JUST 'EFF OFF!!!!"

I think part of your disconnect with @Boris Badenov might revolve around alternative understandings of the concept of help. Or perhaps unquestioned assumptions about nations' desires to be helpful.

Only if we're talking about a dictator who has openly discussed wiping out a race of people and taking over Europe. And we aren't faced with anything like that.

Sorry, but the Nazi Germany analogies are ridiculous and have no applicability to modern foreign policy.
Oh... I thought we were talking about Ukraine again. This is more of the Israel thing isn't it?

Flown over Ukraine many times... Just skirted south of Simferopol last week, too. Scary that it could have been anyone.

That's my point.

There's a disturbing number of people in the thread that don't realize just how close this event hits to home.

Forces shot down a civilian aircraft on a super-busy air route that a number of us regularly operate.

Oh... I thought we were talking about Ukraine again. This is more of the Israel thing isn't it?

It can be either. Neither is any of our business. Get out of their countries, go around their air space, stay out of their politics. Befriend none of them, make enemies of none of them.
