…a pilot group that was effectively sued for no longer flying historic levels of voluntary overtime sparked by an underground informational campaign.
I know nothing of that history! How did management phrase their take on the situation? "The lifestyle to which we've become accustomed?"
They targeted 49 individuals who they claimed were the ring leaders and sued them. As part of the PWA, the suits were dropped. Still, a lot of money, time, and negotiating capital was wasted.
Consumerism is destroying the American family unit far faster than any amount of gay marriage, gay divorce, etc., ever can.Given the stampede of pilots tripping over each other to pick up anything and everything that falls into open time these days I don't think there is a chance in hell that the company has to ever worry about an organized effort in the future. I have guys staying in my crashpad on their days off hoping to pick up green slips as opposed to going home to their families. I'd call it pathetic but it's actually very sad.
This reminds of me when my parents would say, "If he told you to jump off the roof are you going to do that?". People will preach what they want but when things hit the fan, hardly anyone will be around to back you up. Be very careful if you are considering doing such a thing. Others that are at legacies or majors would know if an arrest on your record would be ok with those companies. I understand that most everyone at the regionals are frustrated but this by no means is the step to take. Educate the public, those in power to make the change, and those who also want to make this their future career.
If I happen to really be sick that day, I'm gonna be pissed.
"What's goin' on? Some sort of job action?"I just hope that enough idiots do it so I don't sit unused reserve those days
