ATP, rule changes

My brother needs his ATP. If he takes the written before July 31, will he have 24 months under the old rules to finish? Or will he be subject to the new requirements for an ATP?

Anyone got copy of a letter from the FSDO explaining this situation?

I'm not going to hunt down the source info, but, most of the new rules revolve around the written. Get the written done by the end of July (under the old rules) and you have 24 months to take the check ride, as I understand it.

yea i took written two weeks ago atp no prerequisites needed sheppard air is the best now 24 calendar months to build that time up to get to an airline

Question in regard to the atp part 135. Sheppard doesn't include this section. Does this mean one can't work for a part 135 company?

No sir. The written is good for your ATP ride. There is no distinction on your cert once you have your ATP if you took the 121 or 135 written

I took the 121 written and I'm a 135 PIC.
