I got a LinkedIn message from someone I used to work with and I'm sharing it with you.

I was going through LinkedIn and saw that you have a good amount of connections with pilots (ie Delta/United). I was checking things out for this friend of mine who is currently a pilot in the Airforce and ready to retire and get into the commercial business. Do you think any of your friends would be able to help? You never know, so I figured I would check.

Obviously, I will tell her to have her friend check out this site.

Anyone open to me connecting you directly?
 
This is someone I used to work with. So no, not spam. She's helped me and now I'm trying to help her friend.

Which should make it awesome, but it doesn't.

Much less of a cult. You'd experience less flack declaring that you're a transvestite who raises the flaps in the flare and feeds GMO corn syrup to the cheerdrens than shutting down your Facebook profile.

No not the person themselves; I was referring to how LinkedIn itself operates, where it seemingly spams out the particular user's info/resume/etc.

Oh, yeah. If you're not careful, it will try to connect you with everyone in your address book. I hate that. But for professional networking, it is useful. I get recruiters contacting me all the time through it.

Everywhere I go online: "Do you want to connect with Tony?" Sure...I have no other way of contacting him.....

After getting sick of the endorsement emails I went to change some setting so I wouldn't get them. I found it far easier to delete the account.
