Appologize if its a repost...musicians denied boarding

I'm pretty sure that regardless of PSA's policies, federal law states that airlines shall allow them to stow them in the bins:

(1) Small instruments as carry-on baggage.--An air carrier
providing air transportation shall permit a passenger to carry a
violin, guitar, or other musical instrument in the aircraft cabin,
without charging the passenger a fee in addition to any standard
fee that carrier may require for comparable carry-on baggage, if--
``(A) the instrument can be stowed safely in a suitable
baggage compartment in the aircraft cabin or under a passenger
seat, in accordance with the requirements for carriage of
carry-on baggage or cargo established by the Administrator; and
``(B) there is space for such stowage at the time the
passenger boards the aircraft.

There's no way you're storing a guitar in an CRJ-200 overhead bin without having people rioting. It simply takes up too much room, hence the "if" part. There's even a sentence that still allows for the airlines to charge for carry-ons in the FAA policy. They just can't charge you MORE for putting it in the baggage compartment.

Plus, let's look at the B section of the FAA rule. If all the overhead bin space is gone, game over.

Clearly you haven't spent any time deadheading on "no-carry on" airlines lately.

The bins still fill up. You do see the ridiculous things passengers try to shove in the overhead bins of a -200 right?
