Anybody else flown them? I flew our 207 with one today and it is amazing. Actually got a little better climb performance. They just feel cheap compared to the metal ones, but so far no dings from gravel.
Haha. I had to learn that at one time too.I have flown Hartzell Props, "Made on Honor" in Piqua, Ohio....still not sure why one of my CFIs made me learn that.
I think thats what we put on ours too. Any issues with nicks thus far?We have the 5-bladed prop on the PC12 from MT, it's amazing.

Good to know. Hopefully we have good luck in that department. It is funny seeing all the bug splatters on it.Only 1 MT related nick so far, someone got a huge nick in the prop in King Cove last year - but other than that, no problems

Yes. Yes it will. The old "down-wind-slow-taxi" trick will get you every time.

What about it dont you like?Myself and every pilot I've talked to in our company can't stand the 5-bladed prop. luckily only one of our aircraft actually has it.
Yeah, I had a blade practically destroyed from FOD (cracked all the way through from front to back), they sent it to the shop and put it in the jig and glued it back together!Had them on the Diamond Twinstars. Hated them. Seems like they delaminate a lot. Also takes forever to get them back from overhaul.

Thats crazy. What kind of FOD was it?Yeah, I had a blade practically destroyed from FOD (cracked all the way through from front to back), they sent it to the shop and put it in the jig and glued it back together!
Interesting. I find in the 207 it to be a lot smoother, and a little bit quieter. I also think it looks really good on the 207.Louder, and its very unforgiving if your power setting is lower than it should be when you're coming into the flare. Also it almost feels like there's more left turning tendency coming off the runway with it.

Its not so bad when the temps are under 70.The good ole Vomit Comet. I don't miss it.
