how do you like the Garmin system? We have a G1000 in one of our King Airs and get a lot of complaints thats its not very professional.

What does that even mean?

It doesn't have a FMS, can't build a hold, etc...

@Roger Roger , @tiredcfi pretty much nailed it. A few other funning things the G1000 does that might irritate a professional flight crew.

-When you load an arrival the arrival airport still appears above the arrival in the fltplan. This requires an additional key stroke to delete.

-The pilots and co-pilots headset volumes are linked so if one guy raises the volume on his side the other guys ears get blown out.

-The 2 RMI needles are the same color and blend into the synthetic terrain.

-When an ILS approach is loaded, just loaded not active, both nav radios auto tune the ILS frequency without alerting the pilots. As an example, if I'm over las vegas and load the ILS for Van Nuys it will drop the VOR I was tracking for an ILS freq I don't need right now.

-No actual DME. The DME you see is GPS driven

-No Radar Altimeter.

Don't get me wrong, I like the G1000 way more then the KLN-90 box in the other king airs but it's not as professional as Universal or Proline setups.
