Airbus vs Boeing -career long term advantage?

Hey guys-

A friend of mine who is overseas was interviewing with two airlines and he called to ask me my opinion if he should chose the airline with a 737 or A320. He was interviewing with two airlines and now he has the option to go into either. I didn't really have any opinion for him but I told him I would ask here. Long term is there any advantage of going into one aircraft over the other. He has the long term goal of flying wide body planes A330 / A350 or 777 / 787. Any advise would be appreciated.
 
He should choose the one that better fits into his long-range plans. Maybe the one that pays better or offers a better QOL. A/C make/model is a pretty minor issue...
 
They both probably pay the same so who cares. Pick the one that will give the most days off and has the most wide bodies in its fleet. It really doesnt matter.

Ultimately we don't know if your friend is deciding what program to pay for.

If that is not the case go with the better airline. Chasing a specific airframe is stupid when other factors such as pay, benefits, QOL are not considered as well. A specific airframe will only help get a job at SWA. Otherwise it ultimately does not matter.

Time out. You did start a thread in regards to the almighty, forever controversial "pay to fly" topic, correct? You also said you didnt want to hear negative opinions and never returned to the thread to answer any of the questions folks on here took the time to ask as well as those who took the time to give advice. Why should we take anything you say seriously?

I never said anything about not hearing negative comments, I wanted to hear from people who actually did it and had experience with it not, "don't do it its stupid." And this is a totally different topic, as I had called a friend of mine over the weekend who I went to flight school with who lives in Asia, and he was telling me what he was up to and this topic came up, so... here I am asking something about it. The last sentence of that post you are referring to I wrote, "Please if you think they are 'bad for the industry' I don't need a response, I am just looking for anything positive or negative that people have had."

Hey man, when you are new around town, it does not matter if you are right. You are wrong. That's how it works in this backwards social world. Best thing to do is find humor in it and move on.

Tell your friend to pick the one that gets them happy and comfortable the quickest.
