LOL I remember within a week of the poster being out in crew rooms having names crossed out. Such glorious times.
Pflieger's hit list!

I haven't met one Silver pilot that isn't a douchebag, thinks of themself as God's gift to aviation, and has poor skills, both decision making and aviation.
Let me take a stab at something. You're an employee of Silver, yes? I have a 50/50 shot here, but I am curious.
Yikes. And there you go off the deep end. Some of us there were hired and had no connection to GIA except for the fact that the company we worked for was operation out of their assets.moxiepilot said:And, if you'll excuse me, the reason why I equate Silver with GIA is because the pilots I know who have Silver on their resume were former GIA pilots. They all have one thing in common to me - I don't want to fly with any of them. You may want to reword thisI'd be more than happy to let you fly with me and realize that all Silver (or former Silver) pilots are as you described.
Actually, I didn't. I asked because I got that feeling from the tone of your post coupled with that being your first post. You can challenge me and my opinions all you want; everybody's got em....It seems you are making that statement simply because I challenged your opinion.
Actually not a debate technique - Go reread what I asked....I said I was curious. I wanted more CONTEXT as to why you are formulating your responses, so that I can further determine the the reasoning. So, please enlighten me as to how I was using that as a debate technique? I can't even see how you would stretch my asking if you worked for Silver as the "your argument is invalid," type of approach...That's a pitiful debate technique.
I hardly think I went off the deep end. I stated that every Silver pilot I have ever met is a douchebag and has also been come from GIA prior to that. A few of them that I knew paid for that opportunity. While some pilots might have come in with a clean nose, Silver still carries the stigma in my view.Yikes. And there you go off the deep end. People feeling offended is going to happen every now and then, and I'm sure when we meet you'll realize I'm not that bad of a guy either. But it does not change my perceptions (and others), right or wrong, that the previous reputation of GIA is something that is not easily shaken from Silver.@moxiepilot
Next time you are near Memphis, let me know. I'd be more than happy to let you fly with me and realize that all Silver (or former Silver) pilots are as you described.
I know you are entitled to your opinion, but that blanket statement stepped on the toes of several JC members.
Because Silver bought the assets and rebranded after the BK, it is linked to GIA. Just like when pilots cross picket lines, people remember things for a long time that can negatively affect an image.
I should add @ctab5060X and @DPApilot that I am sorry if you are offended. But you cannot change my perception of this part of the industry. The OP asked about P2P programs, of which GIA is a good example as to what becomes of the pilots and company. Because Silver bought the assets and rebranded after the BK, it is linked to GIA. Just like when pilots cross picket lines, people remember things for a long time that can negatively affect an image.

Well last time I checked Southwest didn't drop an aircraft full of people in ground due to piss poor operating practices and then had to buy another airline to use their operation cert and name to get away from the stench !!!!
LOL! I like the comparison to crossing the picket line....juxtapilot said:Dude, all regionals suck. Fact is, there is no such thing as a "positive image" in the regional industry.
You have no clue what you're talking about when it comes to the Everglades crash.

Speaking of which, I just recently found out the CA was an Eastern scab. The more you know...
ValuJet 592 had nothing to do with "piss poor operating practices." The crash was a direct result of the criminal negligence of a separate maintenance contractor.
OH you mean the contractor that ValuJet was paying and was suppose to be providing proper oversite on to make sure that they were following on what they paid for, yea nice try , piss poor operating practices..................
the NTSB more than named them they were named as a probable cause only second to Saber tech !
