No way man. Not a chance. Senna drove the beastliest cars in an era where he was at a severe political disadvantage within the F1 community. Watching him during qualifying was like watching a man against boys. Senna racked up 65 pole positions in 10 years. Michael reached 68... in 18 years.

Schumacher was great. He was a brilliant and amazing talent, and has the hardware to go with it. He was able to be absolutely cold-blooded in his perfection. Senna, however, made the impossible.... possible. Things like his win in Brazil.

It's not that Schumacher had any weaknesses. He's the complete talent. However, it's just impossible to be better than the best. He's the Rossi to Senna's Agostini. He's the Kobe to Senna's Jordan.
 
It was amazing how Senna was always on the edge of control. The wheel was never still, he was dancing on the pedals to pivot the car and accelerate away from the exits so much faster than any other driver.

If you haven't watched Marc Marquez ride a MotoGP bike, you owe it to yourself to do so. He immediately reminded me of how Senna's car was always dancing...

Give the kid credit, he can keep the car on the track and bring it home in one piece. To be honest with you, I could see him at a place like Williams or Sauber as the number 2 driver. Not the fastest out there, but you know he's gonna get the car clean.
 
Well in my opinion those that are recognized as being the greatest drivers of all time may not necessarily be the greatest. I think opportunity has every bit as much to do with success in motor racing as talent and ability.
There is an up and coming driver these days named Rico Abreu, he has the talent as well as some money backing him, he also has a personality that sponsors love... Is he commercially viable in motorsports where the big money gets thrown around? We'll see.
Ps. Senna fan here as well.

I'll give him that, but from what I understand his feeder series results were never anything to write home about. I'd love to see him in a better car, it can be hard to tell in a car that's at the back no matter what.

Then again... Dude's in F1 and I can barely get a go kart around a track :D

I absolutely love the racings of the 80s. I still watch old races every now and then and it's just awesome watching all of those cars dance, even down the straights. This current generation of cars is the closest I think we'll see to that. Gobs of torque and less downforce results in the cars being much harder to control, which makes it great to watch! It's been great seeing the cars dance this year in the rain. Really reminds me of the days gone in F1.

Marquez is unbelievable. Watching him battle with Valentino during the first race of the season had me on the edge of my seat the whole time!
