Nicely done US Airways

Getting away with that mistake is epic win. Good on US Airways. Honestly, when I first saw the tweet, I figured the pic was a clever way of a social media employee going out the door to tell the whiny girl bitching to US Airways to go eff herself. Kind of disappointed that wasn't the case, but whatever, still hilarious.

Good to see them taking responsibility, however this this age of media the damage is already done and only a small percentage of people that saw the reporting about the original tweet will see that US Airways resolved it in this way.

She doesn't look as flattering in this photo, but I have a heavy suspicion that it originated at my company. The pilot who took the group of photos was reprimanded because his blazer with ID badge was being worn by the woman in a shot while still doing the 777 direct flight to •.

If it is the same set... It's amazing how quickly it spread (giggity) through the industry. I was shown the photos by a Mesaba pilot who had jumped the fence to Pinnacle 200. He got the photos from a UPS pilot.

Yeah, but with most customers, if they're $2 cheaper than the next cheapest airline they won't get their panties in a bunch about it.

So … uh … do you think they ran a 777 model through the dishwasher at any point?

The US Airways employee responsible for sending out a pornographic tweet Monday will not be fired, the company said, because it was a mistake.
A link to a pornographic image was included in a tweet from US Airways when replying to a customer who was complaining about the airline's service on Twitter. The link should have led to a web page where customers can submit complaints.

Instead the link led to a lewd image that was initially posted in a tweet sent to US Airways from another Twitter user. US Airways flagged that tweet as inappropriate, but the employee then inadvertently included a link to the image in a US Airways tweet.

"It was an honest mistake and it was done while capturing the tweet and flagging it as inappropriate, our standard procedure," said Matt Miller, a spokesman for US Airways' parent company American Airlines Group (AAL).

The employee, who is someone tasked with tweeting from the US Airways Twitter (TWTR) handle, won't be punished. But the airline is reviewing its processes to prevent a similar thing from happening in the future, Miller said.

The obscene tweet was deleted as soon as US Airways realized the mistake on Monday and the airline issued an apology via Twitter.
