Because you could see over the panel?
Whoa, we have a ginger attempting to be a bad ass!

Is "the G word" really, legitimately, a serious offensive term? Or we're you just pulling his leg?Y'all do realize that, in other countries, calling somebody a "ginger" is kind of par with some other rather nasty racial slurs, right?
And this website DOES have an international audience.
Just sayin'.
Agreed. I've flown the 767 now for two different airlines, and the transition to the second one was a pain. Had to relearn all the flows and callouts, and I still get stuff backwards from time to time.Maybe it's just me, but I'd prefer starting training on an aircraft with a clean slate... No previous flows and that sort of thing to get in the way.

Seems like it's very easy to offend people now a days. Good thing I don't say a lot of the things I think! It's considered pejorative by a lot of people. My understanding is that it's a British thing.
"Set missed approach altitude and Vapp—nevermind." @TldAgreed. I've flown the 767 now for two different airlines, and the transition to the second one was a pain. Had to relearn all the flows and callouts, and I still get stuff backwards from time to time.
I still mash on the quick disconnect—I mean, the AP/Trim/Pusher disconnect button a few times to make sure the thing is really off at 200'.Took me a bit to get rid of "100' - yaw damp off"
Question for the airline crowd. Let's say that in a handful of years I want to go fly for an airline that operates E190s, such as Jet Blue, Airways or similar. Would going to an airline that only operates CRJs be a bad thing? Would having the 170/190 type matter much in the hiring process down the line? I know with corporate, type rating is almost everything, but I'm honestly not sure how the airlines work when it comes to that sort of thing.
Fixed it for youOther Envoyisms - "Flaps, SET 45, I mean, just 45."
Thank you for a very appropriate reply!I actually didn't realize that.
Thank you for bringing that to my attention. Sorry if I offended anyone.
I'm struggling with that as well, I have to voice everything I do out loud. That's funny, at least I don't feel so bad!I hadn't flown for almost a month. I started the wrong engine first yesterday. No biggie, and the CA laughed, but that's what 7 years in one plane vs two years in the other will get ya.....
