Silver just upped the signing bonus to 12k pm me so I can recommend you and collect on it too if you wish to join. Also no more beech classes so all Saab

Why not increase first year pay by $1000 per month? A "bonus" is heavily taxed.

It's actually taxed the same, initially you pay more taxes when the check is DD bc it's treated like your making 12k every month... But then you can claim in on your income taxes and it comes back.

Why are they are offering so much to new hires?

Why not pay the pilots that are still there more?

Why sign a LOA that included contractual concessions then turn around and offer a 12K signing bonus?

Fix the foundation, then build the house, not slap another coat of paint on the building that should be condemned.


I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to go to work at Silver right now.

I interviewed there in 2011 (for a real job not PFJ) and probably would have taken it if paid just a little more first year and I could have held FLL right off the bat...

They weren't offering any bonus then but if I had taken the job and was still there now I'd be furious if they were giving new hires 12k.

What DECs?? Last staffing bid had downgrades in it.

My buddy is one of the DECs that got/is getting downgraded. But that's so they can upgrade in the appropriate order of seniority. He also said they're probably going to keep him on CA's pay.

They do for right now. There is a Silver guy in my crashpad, said the DOT made them keep flying the EAS routes for now. I doubt it'll last much longer, though.

Silver hasn't learned about EAS yet. You just can't stop service without someone to take over the flying unless the DOT is actually cutting the contract for service. You would think after how long it took them to shut down Montana they would have learned... guess not.

Huge props (no pun intended) for the guys sticking it out there. What a crap sandwich they are feeding you. I flew over glh, MEI, and bkw on my last trip and was nostalgic for a second- really glad I've moved on to greener pastures! Side note I was able to talk to the manager at MEI because that was the only ops freq I could remember. Glad he's doing well
