FSDO Checkride Scheduling

Hi,

Quick question for you all, I called Teterboro FSDO yesterday to schedule my CFI initial checkride. They took my info and said they'll pass it on to the supervisor who will schedule it and give me a call.

How long was your wait for a callback when you called your FSDO?

I almost feel that scheduling this checkride is more stressful than actually taking the checkride.

Chicago FSDO took a week to call me

When I requested mine online with the FSDO it said to give them 3 weeks to get back to you via snail mail. I called three weeks later and they scheduled the ride another two weeks out. Then they canceled the day before. It was one of the most amazingly inefficient processes I have ever been a part of.

Yea...my FSDO doesn't have an online form like some other FSDOs. I called last Monday, and got a call last Friday, but they were looking for someone with a different name. I thought it was a wrong number, but after I hung up I saw the caller ID and it was from the FSDO. Called back to leave a message and haven't heard anything else from them.

My written expires this month (i was procrastinating) and was hoping i can get it done this month, but now my feeling is that i will have to retake my written exams as I'm pretty sure I won't finish the checkride this month...

So annoying...i wish they would just let me do the ride with a DPE, I'd rather pay than deal with a month long (or more) wait.

I just called the ATL FSDO and got on the schedule for this week. I guess it really does vary per location.

Took a month, but finally took the CFI initial practical and passed today! Great checkride with the Teterboro FSDO! Now time for the CFII....
