C5 MEC Conference Call

This LOA in principle is a good thing, but it is a band aid while figuring out a way to drive the company into Ch. 11

While that may be true, we are running out of time before things take an even greater turn for the worst. The company is finally seeing that we need a boost and for once we are getting most of the things we want. It is a step in the right direction.

Still a possibility as always in this business. Worked out well for Usairways. Three times.
I don't think this company would come back out of chap. 11 if it came to that, it would be "lights, camera, quit" for almost the entire pilot group most likely.

Now watch everyone that was "above" flying there start asking about upgrade times and if there's a domicile in Bakersfield near mom's house that's junior.
I wish I could see the numbers increase in Airlineapps they have probably received since this has gone public.

Doug knows C5 exists!

Don't get us started on domiciles, though. That a sore subject around here. Let's just say Big Daddy mainline that shall remain unnamed but goes by "UA" is dehubbing our largest pilot domicile, and won't tell us where they're sending our flying.

I know man. This whole we will tell you guys "soon" is not cutting it. Just get it over with and tell us so we have more news to talk about in flight. :D

Yeah, it's a different ballgame C5 vs Usairways, but my point was that it's not nearly the dead-end that it used to be. And also that no one knows what Champlain Enterprises financial situation is. Apparently its OK enough for them to offer us what they did(and should have been offering all along). Unless they don't think it'll work and they are just giving us this pending LOA to keep us alive long enough to find a buyer or some other deal.

They need to find out from UAL what the plan is for us or figure out how it's going to work if they already know. Are we a three base company or two? Is there more lift to provide in IAD and EWR that we can shift from CLE in June? Knowing the basing sooner than later will obviously help in retention/attraction of pilots. The LOA plugs the leaks, the base situation will help rebuild the dam.

I dont like to speculate, and im not sure if this is a viable option for the company financially, but I wonder if scaling back to two bases without increasing our flying much would allow them to park the airplanes that right now cover the CLE flying, which would in turn reduce the amount of crews needed to cover flying each day and put less pressure on our pilot shortage issues.

So essentially they would shrink the operation until we could appropriately staff back to the level we currently operate at with CLE open

With two bases we would be overstaffed even with an increase in flying in EWR and IAD. That might be what the company wants if you think about it. It would delay any type of pilot recruiting struggle we have now.

ALB maintenance base announced today with the CLE maintenance base sticking around for now not that it should effect the pilots much. Voting for the LOA closes March 28th.

makes the most sense to me. Id prefer two bases just because I think it will lead to better schedules, but only if our monthly block hours stay the same, or about the same as they are now which would be hard in two bases.

So you're telling me we will be ferrying airplanes from Houston and San Fran to Albany? Sorry couldn't help it. Lol.
