The time has come...maybe

Hilarious. I'm procrastinating as well. I have training on Friday/Saturday for our new aircraft with the Cirrus Perspective by Garmin avionics system. Should probably use my day off tomorrow to start studying up on it.....but I think I'm going to go on a hike instead. :p

There is a lot of technology in such a little airplane. That avionics package is more than most airliners are equipped with.

Showed up for simulator and instructor comes in and smiles and says "good news and bad news" .... "The good news is we're all here ready to go, the bad news is that the scheduler forgot to schedule us a simulator."
Alright then, see ya....call me when you figure it out. I'm getting the Harley out and going to Smash Burger.....

Just hit the Straight-and-Level button ans all will be fine.....

reads this post.

stares out the window at 5" of new fallen snow, including the layer on his motorcycle cover.

grinds jaw as a single tear falls....

I've seen a lot of people try to be heroes by immediately rotating at VR when they don't have the airplane fully controlled and it just ended up in a tangled mess.

Imagine working at a company where that's policy. We were told to rotate smartly to 14 degrees at V1/VR (usually the same number), and damn the consequences.

Absolutely terrible way of doing V1 cuts, but somebody decided *this is how it's done!!!*

Where are you? I should be able to get the bike out tomorrow myself. I have an appointment with a plane and a sim.

Yeah, there really is. It's almost frustrating. The avionics supplement for the perspective system is 600 pages long. 600. pages. long. Ridiculous.

Compared to the user-friendliness of the Avidyne Entegra, I seriously think Garmin engineered the perspective system for use by astrophysicists and aerospace engineers. It's just too damned complicated for such a small airplane.

I know the 2004 Cirrus POH is thicker then ERJ-145 books. Better avionics too.

Where do you live these days?

Things are going to become a little less busy at the Mrs address area, with the Matchplay golf tourney giving the proverbial finger to the Ritz here.

Weird, I always found the earlier versions of the G1000 to be much more user friendly than the Avidyne stuff.

The most difficult thing about the Avidyne system (for me anyway) is the dual GNS430s which are made by.....Garmin. Maybe it's just because I have a lot of hours now with the Avidyne, but I find it much easier than the G1000. Everything is in plane sight, nothing is buried in various sub-menus, and it's incredibly easy to call up what you want on the MFD.
