Like I said, I'm an outsider looking in, and have not kept up with all the drama that you guys and gals are going through. I do not know the story behind this letter nor his almost ouster, apparently. I was just responding to what I read.

It's not simply drama, friend. It's politically charged struggles that directly affect the outcome and careers of nearly 2,800 pilots. It may simply seem like arguments that are pointless, but this is simply about the stifling of information by an MEC that is more concerned with telling the company NO, than allowing the pilot group a fair chance at making a decision.

Also, as someone who is an outsider, I recommend you be careful about slinging mud at someone you don't know. This person has spent almost a decade in the service of pilots on this property.
 
To add insult to injury, Ray is now wrapping himself in one lie after another. Denying things like his interviews with Delta and JetBlue.

Matt blew the lid off of the MEC's corruption and I am so glad he did so.

Matt wasn't being "silenced". He is free to post on the web, or call Terry Maxon or anyone else. He just isn't allowed to misuse the ALPA communication system. He clearly has plenty of friends to help him, some who he swore he wasn't in contact with. One of your circle in a private conversation confirmed it. His letter is getting exactly the response I said it would. I don't mind that it is out there - as an Eagle pilot he is allowed his opinion. He just can't sneak around the rules and use the communication system to give tacit endorsement of EGL ALPA to personal opinion. I wish he would have asked me to help him write it. He wouldn't be being vilified for it so badly.
 
Why do you want to f*** over the pilots so badly? I'm not talking about a yes or no vote I'm talking about the damage you will do with that communication.

Just so I have this straight, the old guard was corrupt and the new guard is also corrupt at AE? Also, aren't people on the MEC allowed to try and move forward in their careers by applying to a legacy or should they be stuck at the regional as a lifer?
 
The old "guard" was never corrupt, only accused so by the current "guard" - now it turns out that the "new" is doing everything they accused the "old" of doing. The difference is, they're actually doing it.

You guys need really to stop blindly trusting your sources, who are feeding you misinformation. The avalanche of bovine scat right now on the lounge is breathtaking.

When we spent money, we actually had funding for it. Where is the funding for your FPL? What about the several MEC meetings that you held with costs to the tune of $35-$40k dollars? Why are negotiators on the line but the negotiating chairman is sitting in the MEC office watching movies on his iPad? Why is the SPC chairman buying projectors when the MEC already had one?

They bought some booze for a dinner which was completely legit under ALPA policy (albeit, bad PR). However, the money they spent pales in comparison to the bleeding the current group is doing all without proper funding.

I'm proud to say that I never lied to the pilots as the com chair, too bad you can't say the same.

He is the current Vice Chairman. Maybe they're handing it out because our "unbiased" MEC leadership is trying their best to make this TA fail. Instead of presenting information to the pilots and allowing them to make a decision.

I lack an intimate knowledge of the previous ALPA MEC or even the current one, so I am no position to say who is or was corrupt, etc. However, if I understand correctly, the previous letter was censored because it was presenting a personal position from an organization that is meant to remain neutral. If this is true, then consider this excerpt from an EGLMEC-Fastread email:
"AIP is coming to the pilot group for a vote. You will be asked to make a decision on whether this grab for money just prior to a time when Kelly and I believe the industry is changing dramatically in our favor is acceptable for the next 10 years."
Is this not also a personal position? If I misunderstand or am out of line, please enlighten me (please don't read sarcasm into this statement).
 
You're right. I shouldn't be wasting my time here. There isn't a shred of truth in your posts on this thread. And the stories keep getting whackier all the time.

The company is handing out that letter because it's propaganda. Plain and simple. It's unfortunate because it has some truth in it and had it been written properly it wouldn't constitute propaganda. But unfortunately that ship has sailed and the company is now using it. I'm not sure what more proof I need that.

That came from an individual base and that is allowed. The status reps from each base have a wider latitude to speak than the MEC in general. The MEC voice needs to remain more neutral. And that's we've done.

I just want to point out that if @ATN_Pilot or myself made a similar type of ignorant comment pertaining to corporate aviation, y'all would have been A LOT more snarky towards us than we are being to you.
